Welcome to Surf! We are building a community where fashion lovers can discover, share, and celebrate personal style. These Community Guidelines exist to keep Surf a positive, safe, and inspiring space for everyone.

By using Surf, you agree to follow these guidelines. Please read them carefully.

Our Mission

Surf is a fashion-focused social platform designed for discovering trends, sharing outfits, and connecting with like-minded style enthusiasts. Everything we do is centred around fostering creativity, self-expression, and mutual respect.

Respectful Behaviour

We expect all members of the Surf community to treat one another with courtesy and respect.

• Be kind. Constructive feedback is welcome; personal attacks are not.
• Celebrate diversity. Surf is a global community. Respect differences in culture, body type, gender identity, age, and personal style.
• Engage in good faith. Disagreements about fashion are natural, but keep conversations civil and productive.
• Support fellow creators. Encourage and uplift other members rather than tearing them down.

Content Standards

Surf is a fashion and lifestyle platform. All content should be relevant and appropriate for our community.

• Keep it fashion-focused. Posts, outfits, and comments should relate to fashion, style, clothing, accessories, or personal expression through dress.
• No explicit or sexual content. Nudity, sexually explicit material, or overtly suggestive content is not permitted.
• No graphic violence. Content depicting violence, gore, or self-harm is strictly prohibited.
• No drug or substance promotion. Do not post content that promotes or glorifies the use of illegal drugs or the misuse of controlled substances.
• Age-appropriate content. All content must be suitable for users aged 16 and above.

Intellectual Property

Respect the creative work of others.

• Only post content you own or have permission to use. Do not upload photos, designs, or other media that belong to someone else without their explicit consent.
• Give credit where due. When sharing or referencing another creator's work, tag or credit them appropriately.
• Respect trademarks and brands. Do not misrepresent your affiliation with any brand, designer, or organisation.
• Report infringement. If you believe your intellectual property has been used without authorisation, contact us at support@surffashion.app.

Harassment, Bullying, and Hate Speech

Surf has a zero-tolerance policy for harassment, bullying, and hate speech.

• No harassment. Do not target, intimidate, or repeatedly send unwanted messages to another user.
• No bullying. Mocking, humiliating, or belittling others — whether about their appearance, style choices, or anything else — is not acceptable.
• No hate speech. Content that promotes hatred, discrimination, or violence against individuals or groups based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is strictly prohibited.
• No threats. Threats of violence, whether direct or implied, will result in immediate action including potential account termination and referral to law enforcement.

Spam and Misleading Content

Keep Surf authentic and trustworthy.

• No spam. Do not post repetitive, irrelevant, or unsolicited promotional content.
• No fake accounts. Do not create multiple accounts for deceptive purposes, impersonate other users, or misrepresent your identity.
• No misleading information. Do not spread false information about products, brands, or other users.
• No manipulative engagement. Artificially inflating likes, followers, or engagement through bots, purchased interactions, or coordinated inauthentic behaviour is prohibited.
• No phishing or scams. Do not attempt to collect personal information, login credentials, or financial details from other users through deceptive means.

Dangerous Activities

Do not use Surf to promote or facilitate activities that could cause harm.

• No promotion of self-harm. Content that encourages, glorifies, or provides instructions for self-harm or suicide is prohibited. If you or someone you know is struggling, please reach out to a local crisis helpline.
• No promotion of eating disorders. Content that promotes unhealthy body standards, extreme dieting, or eating disorders is not permitted.
• No illegal activity. Do not use Surf to facilitate, promote, or engage in any illegal activity, including the sale of counterfeit goods.
• No dangerous challenges. Do not promote challenges or trends that could result in physical harm.

Privacy and Personal Information

Protect your privacy and respect the privacy of others.

• Do not share others' personal information. Posting another person's private details — including their real name, address, phone number, email, financial information, or any other identifying information — without their explicit consent is strictly prohibited.
• Respect boundaries. If someone asks you not to share their image or information, comply immediately.
• Protect your own information. Be mindful about what personal details you share publicly on your profile or in posts.
• No doxxing. Revealing or threatening to reveal someone's personal information to harass or intimidate them will result in immediate account termination.

Reporting Violations

If you see content or behaviour that violates these guidelines, please report it.

• Use the in-app reporting tools. Tap the report button on any post, comment, or profile to flag it for review.
• Contact us directly. You can also email us at support@surffashion.app with details of the violation.
• Provide context. When reporting, include as much relevant information as possible to help our team investigate.
• No retaliation. We prohibit retaliation against users who report violations in good faith.

Our moderation team reviews all reports and aims to respond within 48 hours.

Enforcement

We take violations of these guidelines seriously and will take appropriate action to maintain a safe community.

• Warning. For minor or first-time violations, we may issue a warning and request that the offending content be removed.
• Content removal. Content that violates these guidelines may be removed without prior notice.
• Temporary suspension. Repeated or more serious violations may result in a temporary suspension of your account.
• Permanent ban. Severe violations, or a pattern of repeated offences, may result in the permanent termination of your account.
• Legal referral. In cases involving threats of violence, illegal activity, or exploitation, we may report the matter to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Enforcement decisions are made at our discretion, and we reserve the right to take action on any content or behaviour that we believe is harmful to the Surf community, even if it is not explicitly covered by these guidelines.

Appeals

If you believe an enforcement action was taken against your account in error, you may appeal by contacting us at support@surffashion.app. Please include your username and a clear explanation of why you believe the decision should be reconsidered. We will review all appeals and respond within 7 business days.

Changes to These Guidelines

We may update these Community Guidelines from time to time to reflect changes in our platform, community needs, or legal requirements. We will notify users of significant changes through the app. Continued use of Surf after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated guidelines.
